artikleblak

Artikleblak is a panoramic color-consciousness of digital media connecting the African Diaspora throughout the world. This world is a massive environment and our images and stories and concerns are spread to sparingly throughout the planet and digital terra. People of color comprise 4/5th of the world's population. Yet we have to Google search and channel surf and scour the event calendars to find ourselves, whether it be a person, place or thing. We should nevermore let oceans, languages, religions, cultures or man-made boundaries partition us. Our humanity is to powerful to remain fragmented, lets make it ONE again. Sincere thanks, Artikleblak

Canopy of Blackness

We post Middle Passage, post slavery, post Jim Crow, post assassin 60’s Black folks,

Float through this world on a canopy of comfort and selfishness, infused with materialism and

Keepingupwiththejonesesism.   Some knowingly, others in ignorance.

canopy

A canopy weakly perched above the sacrifices of our ancestors.

Their dignity, their languages, their blood, their names, their freedom, their culture, killed off!

Doing what they had to do, whether it was “steppin and fitchin” or rising up in revolt.

Envisioning a tomorrow where their legacy could live not enslaved, yet free.

And free we are today!

Although we are not living up to our responsibility to make SURE those whose bloody footprints we traipse in, didn’t sacrifice and die in vain.

Fortify the canopy!

Cheers,

Coretta Scott King Letter | BHM Day 8

Mitch McConnell and his cronies should be ashamed of themselves.

You can silence the messenger, but you can’t KILL the truth!!!!

To make Senator Warren take a sit for simply referencing a letter about

_essions that Coretta Scott King wrote. He did it because he knows the truth hurts.

What is ironic, now millions of Americans, of all political parties are going to

read the letter. My hope is 11/2018 will cleanse the DC rotundra of the blanched

ones that are doing whatever they can to save the demographically dying status

quo.#BHM Happy Black History Month. 🙂 & Shout out to all the WOMEN of

the United States and the World. #Youdeserveitall Equal pay, for equal work!!!!

Augusta Savage | Black Sculptor Day 3 BHM

Augusta Savage was born in 1892 in Florida.

She moved to New York and attended Cooper Union, then moved to Harlem.

She became a sculptor and created a monumental piece called the Harp for the 1937 World’s Fair in New York. The Harp was inspired by “Lift every voice and sing.” The Black national anthem.

Black History Month | Day 2 | Frantz Fanon

Frantz Fanon was an Afro- Caribbean born in Martinique.

He was revolutionary, philosopher, psychiatrist and writer.

“Sometimes people hold a core belief that is very strong. When they are
presented with evidence that works against that belief, the new
evidence cannot be accepted. It would create a feeling that is
extremely uncomfortable, called cognitive dissonance. And because it
is so important to protect the core belief, they will rationalize,
ignore and even deny anything that doesn’t fit in with the core belief.”
Frantz Fanon, Black Skin, White Masks

Jump to the present day situation occurring in the United States of America.

I reference an amazing Black woman’s Facebook post.  Patrice Elizabeth,

“As INSANE and utterly asinine as our current
Administration is… we are more unified now as a people than
we have been in a LONG time. A moment of clarity as we honor
our ability to rise above adversity. Let’s keep elevating above the hate
and stay tuned into the frequency of freedom and equality for all
humankind 🙌🏾#vibrateHIGHER  Patrice Elizabeth.  aka @theafricanbutterfly

Like Patrice said we are more unified than ever.  That is the silver lining in all this tyrannical wreckage.

We must reach out to one another, share information, generate commerce
among one another, stop killing each other in the streets over colors and drugs and real estate.

As adults and children, we need to read read read. We have a golden history
as displayed in exhibits across the world of 18th Dynasty of King Tutankhamun.

Post Election Blues #Trumpland

Post Election Blues-

I have much to say about this past election in America.

And will eventually share my thoughts.

In the meantime, I came across one the “Life and Lessons” of Marcus Garvey.

And it reads:

White men newpapers subsidize and own,

For to keep them on their racial throne:

Editors are slaves to fool the public,

Reporters tell the lie and pull the trick;

The papers support only what they want,

Yet truth, fair play, and justice, daily flaunt:

They make criminals out of honest men,

And force judges to send them to the Pen.

REALLY ALLEN WEST ON COLIN KAEPERNICK

“You see, when the National Anthem is played, it has a very special meaning to us — maybe you should take a hiatus…” Allen West

When u hide or erase historical facts, u get ignorant and asinine results. Allen, maybe your azz needs to take a hiatus and go read the 3rd and 4th stanzas of the Star Spangled Banner.

And then reflect and determine whether u are a descendant of a “hireling or a slave”? In addition to that, think about all the Black, Brown and poor folks who were either drafted, joined up or

volunteered to our armed services, past and present, look back at their genealogy. I guarantee u out of your ten fingers only 2 or 3 come from elite families, the other from “hirelings or slaves.”

So just by the FACT of the lyrics of the Star Spangled Banner alone, for you to chastise and tell a grown ass man what he should do to apologize is ignorant and self righteous. I believe the REAL

Star Spangled Banner

Really Allen West?

Uncle Tom would agree with me 100000000 %. Holla.

Allen West Teaches Colin Kaepernick a Lesson on Who is ACTUALLY OPPRESSING Black People

Thoughts of Fannie Lou Hamer speech

You know. I guess there is a profound reason why at 49 years old, almost 50, I have JUST heard this speech of Fannie Lou Hamer. I NEVER really knew who she was. I would hear her name but NEVER her experience.
Folks, what has happened in the past and much of what is still happening is sickening!

If I live another 50 years, I know prejudice and racism will out live me. I wish I could take my core friends of Black, White, Asian, Brown and the Original ones and spread their seeds to the wind and birth a world of peace, unity, harmony and love.
Unfortunately that is living in a fantasy world and not practical in this world of greed and ignorance.
The history of this country is one shrouded in darkness, atrocities beyond humanity imagination. Really really think about it. Strangers came to a beautiful land which was already inhabited. Didn’t know how to survive. Killed off the peoples whom helped them survive. Took their lands in the name of some BS called “Manifest Destiny”. Stole another peoples from their lands. Enslaved them. Worked them to death in building their nation, including dragging stones from a quarry to build a house that they painted white. And out of all this sprang what is know as American capitalism. That sick evil mentality has not been destroyed, it still exist to this very day.
Over the last couple of years, it’s been lurking below the surface of the red, white and blue, whether stripes or stars and bars. Well, no longer, their legacy has resurfaced to “Make America Great Again.”
Sincerely,
