Thoughts of Fannie Lou Hamer speech

You know. I guess there is a profound reason why at 49 years old, almost 50, I have JUST heard this speech of Fannie Lou Hamer. I NEVER really knew who she was. I would hear her name but NEVER her experience.
Folks, what has happened in the past and much of what is still happening is sickening!

If I live another 50 years, I know prejudice and racism will out live me. I wish I could take my core friends of Black, White, Asian, Brown and the Original ones and spread their seeds to the wind and birth a world of peace, unity, harmony and love.
Unfortunately that is living in a fantasy world and not practical in this world of greed and ignorance.
The history of this country is one shrouded in darkness, atrocities beyond humanity imagination. Really really think about it. Strangers came to a beautiful land which was already inhabited. Didn’t know how to survive. Killed off the peoples whom helped them survive. Took their lands in the name of some BS called “Manifest Destiny”. Stole another peoples from their lands. Enslaved them. Worked them to death in building their nation, including dragging stones from a quarry to build a house that they painted white. And out of all this sprang what is know as American capitalism. That sick evil mentality has not been destroyed, it still exist to this very day.
Over the last couple of years, it’s been lurking below the surface of the red, white and blue, whether stripes or stars and bars. Well, no longer, their legacy has resurfaced to “Make America Great Again.”

About artikleblak

Artikleblak is a panoramic color-consciousness of digital media connecting the African Diaspora throughout the world. This world is a massive environment and our images and stories and concerns are spread to sparingly throughout the planet and digital terra. People of color comprise 4/5th of the world's population. Yet we have to Google search and channel surf and scour the event calendars to find ourselves, whether it be a person, place or thing. We should nevermore let oceans, languages, religions, cultures or man-made boundaries partition us. Our humanity is to powerful to remain fragmented, lets make it ONE again. Sincere thanks, Artikleblak
