Son of Ferguson. A poetic tribute to Michael Brown by artikle

Black blood stains
Stain hot black asphalt.

Black Mother’s pain
News of a son slain.

Six times shot!
Four long hours lain
In the Sun’s hot.

No 911 call.
No CPR.
No sheet.
No value.
No human appraisal.

En-caged in yellow tape.

Whilst White cop paces
Onlookers of Black faces
Beyond the yellow cage
With backs to brick buildings
Stand in grass verdant.

Stare in rage.
Heads shaking.
Hands trembling.
Bodies shaking.
In disbelief.

Another?
Another Black?
Another Black son
Of America, slain?

No more calendar months to be torn away.
No smiling future.
No more adolescent   mishaps to be had.
No more tassels to be flipped right to left. in unison.

Vitality of youth snatched away
from this son
of Ferguson.

About artikleblak

Artikleblak is a panoramic color-consciousness of digital media connecting the African Diaspora throughout the world. This world is a massive environment and our images and stories and concerns are spread to sparingly throughout the planet and digital terra. People of color comprise 4/5th of the world's population. Yet we have to Google search and channel surf and scour the event calendars to find ourselves, whether it be a person, place or thing. We should nevermore let oceans, languages, religions, cultures or man-made boundaries partition us. Our humanity is to powerful to remain fragmented, lets make it ONE again. Sincere thanks, Artikleblak
