Happy birthday Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.! ::))

Dr. King Day

Celebrate MLK JR day

85 years ago today a king named Martin Luther King Jr. was born in Atlanta, Georgia.

He died in Memphis TN by an assassin’s bullet.

artikleblak sometimes thinks the “Dream” died with the Dreamer.

Today, we are fragmented. Caught up in the world of “me”. Not thinking about the “us”.

We need to re-examine the dream.

Money, bitches and cars and clothing, is this all a ‘nigga’ really knows?

If it is, we are lost collectively. Disconnected. Spread out among continents from Africa to Australia to India to the Caribbean. From South America,  Central America, Mexico, USA and Canada.

And by the way, our brothers and sisters in Africa listen to and believe these cyphers that ….Well, I can’t call them cyphers, but manufactured audio poison that is infiltrating the world’s Beats by Dre.

Wake up rappers. Wake up ghettos. Wake up favelas. Wake up barrios. Wake up shanty towns. Wake up townships. Wake up people!

Our ancestors of the quilombos and palenques would be quite unimpressed with our overall achievement.  As to our contemporaries, across oceans, in villages and cities from Havana Cuba to Karnataka India and beyond? I think they are totally disappointed.

We have work to do.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. had a dream. Let’s not make it end in a nightmare.

The best,

About artikleblak

Artikleblak is a panoramic color-consciousness of digital media connecting the African Diaspora throughout the world. This world is a massive environment and our images and stories and concerns are spread to sparingly throughout the planet and digital terra. People of color comprise 4/5th of the world's population. Yet we have to Google search and channel surf and scour the event calendars to find ourselves, whether it be a person, place or thing. We should nevermore let oceans, languages, religions, cultures or man-made boundaries partition us. Our humanity is to powerful to remain fragmented, lets make it ONE again. Sincere thanks, Artikleblak
