South African President Nelson Mandela passes away

South African President Nelson Mandela passed away in his hometown of Jo’burg South Africa on December 5th 2013.

Rest in Peace Madiba.

artikleblak sends prayers and well wishes across the sea to the Mandela family and the people of South Africa.

As sad as this occasion is there is a lining of celebration within it!

Nelson Mandela lived a full life. He left it all on the table and then some.

A Black President who guided the fragmented country of South Africa towards a new nation, where all races of South Africans could live together in harmony and peace.

A man who extended his hand, in compassion and forgiveness, to those who incarcerated him for 27 plus years of his life.

An amazing breath of humanity who reconciled with those who tortured, ruled over and killed his brothers and sisters under apartheid.

May the world look at Nelson Mandela’s life and learn from him.

May the world look at Madiba’s life and understand the possibility

About artikleblak

Artikleblak is a panoramic color-consciousness of digital media connecting the African Diaspora throughout the world. This world is a massive environment and our images and stories and concerns are spread to sparingly throughout the planet and digital terra. People of color comprise 4/5th of the world's population. Yet we have to Google search and channel surf and scour the event calendars to find ourselves, whether it be a person, place or thing. We should nevermore let oceans, languages, religions, cultures or man-made boundaries partition us. Our humanity is to powerful to remain fragmented, lets make it ONE again. Sincere thanks, Artikleblak
