The country of Brasil was the last to abolish slavery in 1888.

1888 was the year that the world of photography started to take off.

This may well be the world’s largest archive of photography of slavery,

A new exhibition called Emancipation and Inclusion in Sao Paulo is giving Brasilians and the world new insights to the country’s brutal past.
