“If you want to say that I was a drum major, say that I was a drum major for justice,” King said. “Say that I was a drum major for peace. I was a drum major for righteousness. And all of the other shallow things will not matter.”

The inscription on the new MLK statue memorial in Washington DC needs to be corrected.

This monument is far to important to future visitors around the world who will come to see the new and historical important United States memorial of an important African-American.

I agree with Ms. Maya Angelou. The inscription which has been chosen gives Dr. King a sense of arrogance and entitlement. Two things he was soooo removed from.

Future visitors can’t walk away with either one of these thought on their minds.

It will destroy the purpose of the tribute to this world renown humanitarian and American who spoke out against injustice towards all human beings.

Statue comittee. Go on make the change.

Sincerely,

About artikleblak

Artikleblak is a panoramic color-consciousness of digital media connecting the African Diaspora throughout the world. This world is a massive environment and our images and stories and concerns are spread to sparingly throughout the planet and digital terra. People of color comprise 4/5th of the world's population. Yet we have to Google search and channel surf and scour the event calendars to find ourselves, whether it be a person, place or thing. We should nevermore let oceans, languages, religions, cultures or man-made boundaries partition us. Our humanity is to powerful to remain fragmented, lets make it ONE again. Sincere thanks, Artikleblak
