Obama Reflection Democratic Nominee 2008

Well he did it! We did it!

Reflecting back on the nomination the other evening and Hillary Clinton’s “Get out of the race” speech, I am walking proudly down the streets of Los Angeles, head held high and attitude of “Yes I can”!

America is finally gettin shit right. It is about time!

We will see what happens is November.

Well folks vote for a Black man once they enter the voting booths across America?

We will see.

What is unfortunate is I have to talk about this in light of race. However I gotta remind folks this country was founded and built on race and the backs of Black slaves!

And the powers that be are gonna do anything they can to derail this truly American Dream which Martin Luther King Jr. spoke so eloquently about over 40 years ago.

So yes this is somewhat about race, the plight of the Black Man. But more importantly the awakening of the American spirit!

God bless and protect Mr. Barack Obama and his family.

Did you know the NBA only gives the NBRPA a grand total of $1 million dollars annually in assistance?

Now, subtract from that million dollars about $250,000 for the NBRPA’s staff, plus nearly $7,000 each month to rent and maintain a New York office.

Subtract the cost of an annual reunion for the retired stars.

Subtract $75,000 for educational scholarships the foundation bequeaths annually to former players and their families.

Subtract payments doled out to players of yesteryear in medical hardship situations.

Now, what do you have? Nothing.

Countdown Apparel contacted the NBA before the start of the Finals with an offer to create products that would give the NBA a new revenue stream that could potentially provide millions of dollars for their retired players. While it is understandable that such decisions take time, what is unacceptable is the fact there was no answer at all.
