Ben Stiller’s Tropical Thunder: Robert Downey Jr play Blackman or Black face?

Good Thursday morning to the world.I just read the following article on EW.com.
Robert Downey Jr. is playing a Black soldier in the uncoming film Tropical Thunder, a comedy. However I don’t think some folks will be laughing.
This is a double edge sword for me. I like the acting work of Robert Downey Jr.
Yet I have serious reservation of him playing a Blackman.
It brings back memories of the old Blackface theater and film.
Which took money outta the pockets of Black actors and was degrading to Black folks all over the world.
And it’s not good for Black actors in Hollywood!
What is next? George Clooney playing Malcolm X?
Is this film gonna do record numbers and lead Robert Downey Jr to become the Al Jolson of the 21 century?

Hollywood should know better then that.

Ben Stiller said “People seemed to embrace it” at a test screening. And said it scored big with African-Americans.

Let’s see what happens. Will there be boycotts? Maybe.

As the folks at Warner Bros say. That’s all folks!

Well well well. Looks like my prediction on a Obama Ohio win went out the window.
However I called it kinda close in Texas. Hillary did when Texas, but I think they pretty much split the delegates there. I don’t give Hillary Clinton kudos however.
I think she implemented a smear/fear tactic. The Obama traditional Kenyan garb and painting a Black man Blacker then he is. U all remember the picture of OJ on the cover of Time. “The darker the berry the more scary the berry!”NEWS FLASH!!!! I am by no means comparing Obama to OJ specifically.Survey says………This kinda ad campaign breaths life into minds of individuals how in the back of their minds still question the equality and integrity of a Black person.And I am sad to say I think many folks played into this bullshit, especially up in the bellweather state of Ohio.

Where were the Ohio Players??????…….They were in the voting booths second guessing themselves, “Obama? Clinton? Obama? Clinton? Barack? No, Hillary. Obama? Dammm I better go with what I know, Hillary.”

Obama let this be a extremely valuable lesson. It’s about to get really really dirty!!!

Greetings folks from sunny Los Angeles.
I am gonna extend myself out on a limb tonite and make my prediction about the upcoming Texas Primary and Ohio Primary.I think Hillary will win the general population vote in Texas because of the large percentage of Latino voters. However I believe Obama will do better in actual delegates, since the areas with the most delegate concentration happen to have large Black American populations: Houston and Dallas. And don’t forget the liberal folks over in Austin Texas.As for Ohio? I think the blue collar folks: Black, White, Brown, Yellow and Red with give Mr. Barack Obama the win in that state. Movin Obama one step closer to becoming the Democratic Nominee for the Presidential Election in November 2008.
